Help Prevent a Pipe Burst in Your Macon Home Today

This time of year is the hardest time on your pipes. Not having them properly insulated and below freezing temperatures can cause the water in your pipes to freeze and expand, causing the pipes to burst. To keep from having a disaster like this affect your home, follow some of these steps:
- If you will be out of your home for an extended time, set your thermostat above 50 degrees to insure nothing insider your home will freeze.
- Allow your faucets to drip slightly. Having your faucet open slightly will allow the pressure caused from water freezing in your pipes to escape instead of bursting your pipes.
- Add extra insulation to exterior pipes. You can purchase foam rubber or fiberglass sleeves that fit around pipes to decrease the chance that your pipes will freeze.
Following these steps will help greatly lower your risk of pipes freezing in your home. If you do still experience a pipe burst in your home, we are always here to help at 660-665-3390.
